beast. Films is a small production company in New York City. Originating as an offshoot of beast. comedy, a New York City improv, sketch, and video comedy group, beast. Films is currently producing its first short film, On Parole. The filmmakers involved in the project, Paul Briganti Kevin Mead, Darren Miller, and Gus Sacks, are students at The School of Visual Arts and The George Washington University.

Paul, who will direct and edit, comes to the project with a wide variety of skill sets and disciplines. Though many of his skills are self-taught, he has a keen eye for creative film editing, and is a very strong writer, working frequently with his comedy group, Bleak!, where he writes and directs shows. He has directed short films such as The Editor and Satire, which have won awards in several film festivals.

Kevin, who will also direct, has refined his filmmaking skills in his extensive studies of creative writing and dramatic literature as well as his experience writing, producing and directing several short films including Reaching Toward the Sun and Pete Dunt’s Encumbrance. In addition, he writes and directs videos for his college sketch and improvisational comedy group, Recess, at The George Washington University. He is currently working on several feature length projects and, in the future, hopes to pursue a career in the film industry as both a Writer and Director.

Darren Miller, who will produce, brings not only creative experience, but also extensive skills in the areas of business and marketing. Among his credentials are several successful production companies. He is the current President of the GW comedy group Recess, and President and Founder of Always on Productions, through which he has produced a number of short films, including a national television commercial.
